Twenty luxury rooms that will stimulate your five senses!
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Kanade is a retreat in the ancient capital that provides guests with relaxation and comfort.
A short walk will bring you to Heianjingu Shrine and Nanzenji Temple, while Kiyomizudera Temple is also within walking distance. This ryouri ryokan (auberge) with a view of Daimonji Mountain is in a quiet residential area where history and nature coexist. Although it is conveniently located for various tourist attractions, the inn is well worthy of being called as "a retreat" where you can forget the noise of the city and relax.
Traditional Japanese Garden that will be delight to see!
Kanade's traditional Japanese garden was created by the 8th generation of Ueyakato Landscape Co., Ltd. which has been producing Kyoto style gardens for over 170 years, since 1848 (Kaei 1). Guests can enjoy exquisite garden views throughout the seasons and even rain adds an extra attraction with a glistening effect.
Once experienced, you will know that everything is elaborately prepared.
When seeing something genuine, it is easy to understand. From the highest quality table - finished with urushi-nuri (lacquer coating) - to the perfectly designed and built guest rooms, to the "Ikebana" that shows the magnificent beauty of the still life of plants and flowers, all of the furnishing and designs are elaborately prepared and maintained with extra care each day.
Open-air baths
Three open-air baths with superb views are available for reservation. Please feel free to enjoy with your family or a partner. Make a reservation any time you want to enjoy the skies of Kyoto - the red glow of dawn or the rosy sky at sunset - all to yourselves.
